Grape Leaves

The Grape Leaves are just starting to bud.  So it is time to shut my gate so that the deer do not eat all my grape leaves.  If anyone is going to eat them it is going to be me.  I can not wait!   Our family is very blessed to have been able to grow up eating this kind of food and loving it.   There are so many people that  have never tasted anything like this.   I am THANKFUL to our Aunt Karen for bringing this culinary treat into our family and sharing it.with us all!!!

Soak 
1 c. rice
until water is gone.  water to cover
Mix together
1 lb Hamburger
rice
salt and peper
onion chopped
tomato juice, enough to moisten good

Wrap a spoonful in a grape leaf.  (takes about 1 pint of bottled leaves)
line pan with leaves and set wrapped meat on these.  Pour tomato juice over all and cover and cook slowly about 1/2 hr or till done.  .
